FAITHLESS (DJ Set)

Featuring Sister Bliss (UK)

Unarguably one of the biggest acts ever to land on KZN shores, household name FAITHLESS will be unleashing a DJ set unheard of across our humble province, with SISTER BLISS blasting her blistering big festival sound to UNYAKA for thousands of feet to jump up and down to her thunderous beat. And before you worry that this means ticket prices will have doubled or tripled this year, no stress: we used some crafty Gupta accounting methods and kept the ticket prices the same as last year!

With Sister Bliss bringing her considerable multi-instrument musical background, and highly talented song-writing abilities to bear, Faithless’ first eclectic album Reverence was an underground sensation as the single 'INSOMNIA' which went on to become one of the biggest club anthems of the decade and the album climbed to Gold Status in at least 22 countries.

The Mercury-nominated album Sunday 8pm followed, reflecting upon themes of alienation and lost love, and featured one of their favourite singers, Boy George. It also spawned the provocative hit 'God is a DJ'. Sister Bliss continued DJing and releasing solo singles 'Sister Sister' and 'Deliver Me'. In 2001 Faithless returned to the studio releasing the platinum selling album Outrospective. Their next album, the more politicised No Roots featured the incendiary anti-war single 'Mass Destruction' and went straight in at Number 1.

Sister Bliss has been touring with Faithless Sound System, a stripped-down version of the full act, whilst continuing her successful DJ residencies and playing across the international club and festival circuit. Together with Rollo Armstrong, the 3rd member of the original FAITHLESS brand, she has just collaborated with Example on his number-one album Playing In The Shadows. She has just finished writing the score for the film Knife Fight by 2 times Oscar winner Bill Guttentag.

RANJI

Israel

This year UNYAKA left nothing to chance with the PsyTrance headliner, and selected a high calibre, high power act that has been to SA before, so we know he's a sure bet to get the dance floors overheating. He’s thumped Origin’s engine room, rattled Cape Town festivals, and left behind a legacy of downward stamping feet and upward waving arms wherever he’s been. And so we know the festival energy will get a nuclear injection as the ever energetic RANJI gets our biosphere heaving, jumping, and pumping to his stonking psychedelic soundscapes. We can’t wait! 🦄🍄

The sleek groove of Ranji is a universal language, expressing a crystal clear message: The Israeli is a mighty source of innovation for the Progressive Trance scene and a mighty source of listening pleasure for his audience. Born in 1983, the man from Tel Aviv first stirred global excitement in the world of Psytrance with his fresh production style, characterized by crazy breakdowns and dynamic take-offs. Spiced up with lots of vocals it provides a critical mass of party boost and catchiness!
